Dell PowerEdge T640 — Full Technical Specifications
The T640 is the largest tower of Dell's fourteenth generation — two sockets, a very high drive count and power supplies that run far beyond what a tower normally needs. It was sold where a site wanted data-centre capability in a room with no rack, and it converts to rack mounting if that room ever changes.
Offered new to order, and refurbished as these come out of service.

Full Specifications
The supply row on this sheet runs to six ratings, which is unusual and is the clue to how much machine this can become: at the top of the range it is feeding two fully specified processors and a front face of drives. Choose that row against the configuration rather than by habit. The bay row is the other reason people buy it, with a large number of positions in both formats plus fast drives in the mix. Memory reaches the same ceiling as the rack flagship of its generation, so this is not a cut-down machine in a tall box. Rack conversion is a real option and cheapest at order time.
