This Supermicro system is a dual Xeon platform built around an eight-card accelerator module with the vendor's own switched interconnect between the cards — a training node rather than a server with cards in it. It is bought by research groups and by teams building model-training capacity of their own. It is supplied new, specified with us and built to that specification.

The interconnect rows are the heart of this sheet and the reason a system like this costs what it does: the cards are joined by a switched fabric rather than sitting on the bus independently, which is what makes a single training job across all of them practical. Read the supported-accelerator row as a fixed list, not a starting point — the module is the machine. The processor note names an air-cooled power limit, which is a real constraint on how far up the processor range a given room allows. Memory is quoted at one and two modules per channel with different speeds, and on a host feeding eight cards that difference is worth having.
