Overview
Dell's PowerEdge XE7420 is not a free-standing server but a half-width compute sled for the PowerEdge XE7100, the storage chassis whose large-form-factor drives sit in the enclosure itself. Each sled is a dual-socket node for second-generation Xeon Scalable processors of the Cascade Lake generation, with DDR4 memory and a pair of hot-plug SATA boot drives, and two sleds can share one XE7100, splitting its drive pool between them. Buyers are teams running object storage, video archives or software-defined storage who want compute right beside dense capacity. It is offered refurbished. Each one has been through our standard workshop check — powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded. On our side the warranty reads 1-yr hardwaresys RTB + up to 3 yr on request. A sled only runs inside an XE7100, so tell us whether you already operate that enclosure or want one sourced alongside, how many sleds it should hold, and the processor and memory fill, then request a quote.
