Overview
The T640 is the large tower of its Dell generation — two sockets and a lot of drive room, in a case that stands beside a desk rather than in an aisle. New units go to sites that are standardising on the platform and want the machine to start its life traceable and unmodified. We build it to order and keep none on hand. The assembled tower is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded before it is crated. Components come from suppliers across China and the quality audit happens in our Shenzhen warehouse. The cover is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, and a longer factory term is the vendor's and is named as the vendor's — + vendor to 36 mo. A refurbished T640 is listed separately and is what most people buy for a second machine; this card is for the tower that will be the site's primary system for years.
