Read this table as a description of a machine that has to fit into something you already run, because that is almost always why it is being considered. The controller row lists parts from a generation whose drive caddies and firmware differ from later ProLiants, so drives do not migrate freely up the range. Networking sits on a removable adapter, which means the row describes a seat and the specific unit may hold anything or nothing in it. The memory row is DDR4 of the earliest kind, and mixing it with modules pulled from a later machine does not work. A server this old has to prove itself rather than promise: every example is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded, and only then released.
