Lenovo System x3650 M5 — Full Technical Specifications
The x3650 M5 is the two-socket rack server Lenovo inherited from IBM's System x line, and it is end-of-sale — the vendor has not built one for years. It is bought to keep an existing rack of them whole, to replace a failed unit without redesigning anything, and for labs where the software is of the same vintage.
Refurbished only, and worth buying with clear eyes about how old the platform is.

Full Specifications
The bay row is the reason this model is still sought out: it holds a great many drives for its height, in either format, and a machine configured that way is hard to replace cheaply. Establish what cage a given unit has, because it cannot be changed afterwards. The memory row is early DDR4 and the two module types reach different ceilings; modules for it come from the used market now. Networking is fixed ports plus an optional adapter seat. The management row names the generation before XClarity Controller, which integrates differently with current tooling — often the practical reason these finally leave service.
