Overview
The R840 is a four-socket rack server, and four-socket machines are bought for a reason that is usually written down somewhere: a database that scales up rather than out, or a licence counted per socket. New means original components, never deployed, with a clean record from the first boot. Each system is assembled after the order, to the specification you send. Before it ships it is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded. Purchasing runs through suppliers across China and the quality audit is done at our Shenzhen warehouse. Our cover is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, with any longer manufacturer term named as the vendor's — + vendor to 36 mo. A refurbished R840 is listed separately and is the common route for a standby or a second node; this card is for the system the licence and the auditor will both be looking at.
