Overview
The R940 is a four-socket scale-up machine, which makes it a different kind of purchase from the rest of the rack range: it is bought for one large database or one licensing model, and the decision is usually made by the application owner rather than by the infrastructure team. New means original components and no prior deployment. Each system is assembled after the order, to your specification. It is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded before dispatch. Sourcing spans suppliers across China and the quality audit takes place at our Shenzhen warehouse. Our cover is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, and a longer factory term belongs to the vendor and is quoted as the vendor's — + vendor to 36 mo. A refurbished R940 is listed separately for estates extending an existing scale-up tier; this card is for the deployment where the machine has to be new on paper as well as in practice.
