Dell PowerEdge R660 — Full Technical Specifications
The R660 is the dense sibling of the R760: the same Sapphire Rapids and Emerald Rapids generation, the same management, in a chassis half the height. It goes into estates that count cabinet space rather than expansion slots — virtualisation farms, container nodes and front-end tiers where the useful unit is another identical machine.
New builds and refurbished units are both listed.

The row that separates this generation from the one before it is the drive line, which now offers the ruler-format option alongside the familiar one. Those are different backplanes and different drives, and picking between them is a commitment for the life of the server — so decide there first and let the controller row follow. Network choice then lands on the OCP seat, and in a machine this shallow on slots the seat you fill is a seat you do not get back. Memory capacity looks generous on paper; at that end of the range the modules cost more than the server, so read it as ceiling rather than as plan.
