Overview
The R340 is a single-socket rack server from an earlier Dell generation, the kind bought by the dozen for branch racks and utility roles. New units go to sites that are still building out on this generation and want every machine in the row to be identical. Each is assembled after the order, to your configuration. Before it ships the server is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded. Purchasing spans Chinese suppliers and the audit is carried out at the Shenzhen warehouse we run. Cover is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, with any longer entitlement described as the vendor's own — + vendor to 36 mo. There is a refurbished R340 card as well, and for utility roles it is often the more sensible read; this listing is for the rollouts where every unit has to be new and identical.
