Overview
The R440 is a compact rack server from an earlier Dell generation, and new units are bought by sites that still standardise on it — a rack full of the same thing is worth more than a rack of the newest things. It is assembled from original components with no service behind it. Assembly follows the order, never precedes it. The configuration you send is what is built, and the machine is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded before dispatch. Buying is spread across China with the quality audit at our Shenzhen warehouse. The term is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, and longer cover is the vendor's, named as the vendor's — + vendor to 36 mo. The refurbished R440 sits on a separate card and is the more common purchase for this generation; new is the one to take when the unit has to enter the asset register with no prior owner.
