Overview
A new R740 is assembled from original parts and has carried nobody's workload before yours. It is a mid-life Dell rack platform rather than a current one, which is precisely the reason to buy it new: where a site is standardised on this generation, matching the rack that exists is worth more than jumping to whatever replaced it. We assemble to the specification you send and say build to order on the page instead of implying stock we do not keep. Before it ships the machine is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded. Components come from suppliers spread across China and pass our Shenzhen QC floor on the way out. Set against the refurbished R740 on the neighbouring card, this one buys a full service life and an asset nobody else has already depreciated. Warranty is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB; a longer term is the vendor's own and is always named as the vendor's — + vendor to 36 mo. New is the sensible pick for a production tier that has to outlast the project it was bought for.
