The R740xd is the storage-dense member of its Dell rack generation, which is why it keeps selling long after the generation stopped being current: the shape of the chassis is the reason people want it. New means original components, no prior deployment, a rack unit whose history begins with your purchase order. Builds happen against orders here, not ahead of them. Your configuration is what gets assembled, and the machine is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded before it leaves. Purchasing runs across China and the audit is done at our Shenzhen warehouse. The term is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, with anything longer identified as the vendor's cover — + vendor to 36 mo. A refurbished R740xd sits on its own card and is the usual pick for capacity nodes joining an existing cluster; this card suits the deployments that need a clean asset record from day one.
