Overview
The R420 is end of sale. Dell stopped building this rack generation years ago, so nothing new exists and refurbished is the only condition in which one can honestly be offered. The listing is here because estates still running these racks need matching hardware that the factory will never make again. Units are pulled from service, wiped, brought back to a working baseline and then powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded. Buying runs through Chinese supply and the audit is ours, done in the Shenzhen warehouse before release. Our term is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, which on end-of-sale hardware is the only cover anybody is offering at all. Each unit is sourced against a specific order, so the page shows a lead time. Buy it to keep an old row complete or to hold spares against one; new workloads belong on a generation the vendor still builds.

The vendor has stopped selling this model, which is not the same as it being unavailable. Supplier stock still holds it, and the generation that replaced it carries the current price — so for extending an estate rather than rebuilding it, this code is usually both the fit and the cheaper line. It is quoted as refurbished or OEM stock with its condition stated, never as new, and it carries the same Standard QC and the same 12-month hardwaresys warranty as anything else we ship.
