Overview
One step up from the j-series, the DS223 is the two-bay desktop Synology for a small office that has outgrown a USB drive on someone's desk: shared folders, user accounts, and a proper recycle bin for the files people delete on Fridays. We list it new only — the unit is light enough that freight, not condition, decides the landed cost, and a fresh serial keeps the manufacturer's registration clean. Sourcing runs through our suppliers in China; the audit happens in Shenzhen before anything ships. On our side the cover is 1-yr hardwaresys RTB. Each piece goes out powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded.
