Overview
The ME5012 is the large-form-factor member of Dell's entry array family — fewer, bigger drives rather than many small ones, which is what a backup or capacity tier usually wants. It is listed new, because the controllers in an array are not a component anyone should buy with an unknown past. Each array is sourced against the configuration you specify once the order is confirmed. Before it ships it is powered on and booted on our bench, configuration checked against the spec, completeness and visual inspection, photos, logs and serials recorded. Our purchasing reaches across Chinese suppliers, and the Shenzhen warehouse does the quality audit. We carry 1-yr hardwaresys RTB, and the manufacturer's own support entitlement is separate and quoted as the vendor's — + vendor to 36 mo. Tell us the usable capacity you need and how the hosts will attach: on entry arrays the drive layout decides the quote, and the enclosure is the easy half of it.
