Overview
The MD3820i is a compact iSCSI SAN from Dell's earlier PowerVault era — a self-contained block array that still earns its keep wherever a small cluster needs shared storage over ordinary Ethernet and nobody wants a storage administrator on the payroll. Its generation predates the software-defined fashion, which is exactly why it stays simple to run. Refurbished arrays are commissioned at our Shenzhen bench: controllers brought up, configuration confirmed, drive slots exercised, unit inspected, photographed and serial-logged. It ships with 1-yr hardwaresys RTB. For lab SANs, small virtualisation pods and backup staging, the price-to-usefulness ratio is hard to argue with.
